How to get Minecraft Windows 10 Edition for free! (Mojang News post)

This appears to be a preemptive posting. There's no redeem button on the Mojang account pages at the moment. It will be there upon release, I believe.

Edit The redeem button is now available for me and many other people! You can check it out! http://i.imgur.com/9j8pupC.png

Works for me: http://imgur.com/km6PcRN

What a shame for their support department.

I get to the redeem button on Microsoft's billing and account page, but it says there's an error. Is there a deadline to redeem?

Windows 10 will be available "today"or "tomorrow" depending on where you live. The button should be accessible at 12:01 Wednesday morning Sweden time.

There is no Redeem button.  SERVER LISTS  can't wait until tomorrow, though!

For those who are still in need of Windows 10:

Manual installation now available here

Direct Links:

32bit exe

64bit exe

If you have an addon which forces https, you must open it in ie because the link is just http.

Instructions:

Download the application.

Once you have it running, follow the steps and it will allow you to format your USB drive or disk for the install.

Open the drive you installed it on and then run the installer.

It will be installed and activated automatically.

You can also save an ISO for later but do an update in place first so your key is activated.

I have installed the beta and it is confirmed working and free.

It was delivered to me. It's amazing to see how optimized the game is. My computer's fans don't bother to start and the CPU runs almost idle all of the time.

Are there gameplay differences?

Yes, it should run well on mobile devices, so you can expect it to be just as excellent on PC.

It was just released. 2% CPU and 200mb on singleplayer LOL. The game is #NEXTGEN, but there is some noticeable mouse delays when you look around, otherwise looks great. I wish we could tweak some additional settings, such as AA and Mip-Mapping. Textures become mushy after a distance, and the water glare can be a bit weird. In other words I'm satisfied with the port team.

There is a slight delay with the mouse's movements However, the overall look is fantastic.

I've noticed the exact same thing, the mouse acceleration seems strange too.

It's an unfinished port at this moment. It runs on C++, so it runs super smooth. It needs some work to make it more appealing to the PC gamers. It seems to be a mobile game at the moment.

I'm sorry if this seems like a stupid question. But how did you access Windows 10? Did some users get Windows 10 early?
